2 September 2010 Issues with Decision Ready Checklists
Dear Members,
The Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) General Skilled Migration (GSM) Brisbane has advised they are receiving about 20 to 30 telephone calls each day from clients of RMAs who are advising their clients to telephone GSM Brisbane and enquire how long the processing will take in consideration of the fact that Decision Ready Checklists were lodged.
As you will understand, this is wasting valuable time of the DIAC officers, and those who are advising their clients to directly phone DIAC must stop doing so, or DIAC may decide to cease the use of Decision Ready Checklists (DRCs).
We will contact the Members who have been advising clients to contact DIAC to explain why this behaviour must not continue.
I now request each of you to assist your colleagues in ensuring proper practices are followed which will benefit both our clients and the processing procedures by DIAC.
GSM Brisbane has further advised that due to the overwhelming success of the DRC, they must extend the time for allocation to a case officer to 10 working days. You will note this change is stated in the auto response email.
Please also note that this does not mean that the decision will be made in 10 working days. Once the case officer is allocated the case, the processing time depends on each particular case.
Please be patient and advise your client to be patient. Phone calls from clients or agents are not going to make things happen any faster. |
